I Won’t Say I’m In Love - Disney, Hercules SoundtrackThis is another Angua song. She doesn’t like to wear her heart on her sleeve, and that’s shown… basically throughout the Guards series, IMHO. Although I think the part that really did it for me was during The Fifth Elephant when Angua and Carrot are traveling together, and Gaspode, watching them, concludes that: “The really odd thing about human sex, though, was the way it went on even when people were fully clothed and sitting on opposite sides of a fire” (201).

This song is particularly reminiscent of Angua and Carrot, and how she sees their relationship. I like it because it really captures Angua’s strength and attitude, and how she’s just ohsoslightly frustrated by Carrot’s unceasing belief that everyone can get along if they really try. And they do because he believes in them.

“I try to tell you, but you look at me like maybe I’m an angel underneath…” <– There he goes again.
