2008: The 25th anniversary of the Discworld series!
Stay up-to-date with latest Going Postal news!
Going Postal is the next planned live-action TV adaptation for Sky.
An August 1, 2008 update from www.PJSMPrints.com states that “Going Postal The Movie will be delayed and shooting will not begin until the start of next year.”
Rumors have it that Going Postal will air for the first time in 2009 in the U.K. It was announced during The Discworld Convention 2008 that Going Postal will be filmed in Hungary due to the lack of suitable buildings.
David Jason will not be returning for the adaptation.
Jeremy Irons will play Lord Vetinari.
Terry Pratchett will probably return for another cameo part in the coming film.
Vadim Jean, the director of the previous adaptations Hogfather and The Colour Of Magic will probably direct this film.  It is likely that Vadim Jean and Terry Pratchett will work together on the script.
Terry Pratchett said in an April 15, 2008 news update on www.PJSMPrints.com that he will be, “with any luck, playing a rather larger role in the making of Going Postal.” Whether this means more involvement in the scriptwriting or a larger part in the film isn’t clear.
"People flock in, nevertheless, in search of answers to those questions only librarians are considered to be able to answer, such as ‘Is this the laundry?’ ‘How do you spell surreptitious?’ and, on a regular basis, ‘Do you have a book I remember reading once? It had a red cover and it turned out they were twins."
