General

• The film premiered on March 3, 2008 in London at the Curzon Cinema.
• The first part of The Colour Of Magic first aired Easter 2008, March 23, at 6 p.m. on Sky One and Sky One HD. The second part aired on the 24th, also at 6 p.m.
• The mini-series aired for the first time in the U.S. on ION Television on Sunday, November 23, 2008 from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Eastern Time, according to MarketWatch.com. Executives at RHI Entertainment and ION Media Networks consider The Colour Of Magic part of an effective strategy for improving their respective companies’ public image. ION CEO Brandon Burgess said, “Originals such as The Color of Magic are invigorating ION Television… We are thrilled to provide compelling productions, airing alongside proven hit series, as we continue to build an entertaining network geared at the adult 25-to-54 audience.” (Source: World Screen)

DVD Information

• In the U.S., a Blu-Ray DVD was released December 16, 2008, but “has been discontinued by the manufacturer.”
• In the U.K., a Blu-Ray edition as well as a normal DVD edition were released on November 3, 2008.
• A special two-disc edition was also released in the U.K., also on November 3, 2008. The special features include an introduction by Terry Pratchett, a director’s commentary track, deleted scenes, blooper reels, production stills, and a series of Discworld “tour guides.”
