Ankh-Morpork, now on Second Life

As of October 27, a group of fans (Ankh-Morpork Experience) opened up a world on Second Life based on the city of Ankh-Morpork. In a message sent to members of the Terry Pratchett Fans group, the fans announced “THE GRAND OPENING OF THE ANKH MORPORK EXPERIENCE SIM.”

The Second Life world includes the fans’ conceptions of many buildings found in Ankh-Morpork, including the infamous bar The Mended Drum, the patrician’s palace, a temple, and some of the guilds’ buildings.

New visitors to Ankh-Morpork are welcomed with the following message:

We would like to welcome you to Ankh-Morpork, you have arrived at the junction of Short Street and Filigree Street, the site of The Drum where you can enjoy a pint of ‘fine ale’ and ‘good company’, please take special care of your ears and and be sure that the only ones you leave with are your own!
Feel free to wander through the streets of our interpretation of Ankh-Morpork and enjoy the Patrician’s Palace , the Temple of Blind Io , the Post Office, the Bakery, an assortment of Guilds , and many more surprises .

It would be great if you could leave any suggestions you may have in the suggestion box located near the landing point and we would feel honoured if you were to join our group:))

We would like to point out that although we used a map for the placing of buildings, Terry Pratchett is quoted as saying ‘ The only map is in my head ‘ , therefore the Ankh-Morpork Experience builders would like it to be known that the buildings on this sim are of their own interpretations of Ankh-Morpork and are in no way meant to represent the ideas of others.
