A study by Costa for the 2007 Costa Book Awards on the re-reading habits of UK readers has come up with a list of the most re-read books. Fantasy and science fiction have a good showing in the list, which includes the Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings series, as well as The Hobbit, 1984, the Hitchchiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, and Good Omens (by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett) in fifteenth place, beating out the Bible, at sixteenth.
